It’s Time To Visit The Dentist!
Your pet may have been recently diagnosed with dental disease which is one of the top five diseases affecting your pet’s health. Fortunately, it is also one of the most easily detectable and preventable health problems your pet will face, which is the reason we are always addressing it.
Why is a dental cleaning so important? Remember, your pets do not brush, floss, and rinse everyday making dental disease the root of many other ailments they do face in their lifetime. Chronic dental disease wears your pet out physically because the immune system is constantly fighting the infection being carried from the mouth through the bloodstream to the heart, liver and kidneys. Another very serious medical problem is insufficient food intake due to painful chewing. Cats are at a greater risk because they get cavities on a regular basis, which cause extreme pain. Your pet cannot express these problems verbally but they can be observed through their behavior.
This February is National Pet Dental Health Month. We are offering special dental pricing of 15% off (That’s $50-$100 off!) all dental related services in addition to free goodies through March 31st.
What’s involved in a dental cleaning? A visit to your pet’s dentist is very similar to a visit to your own dentist, with the major exception that pets need anesthesia. We began with scaling, both ultrasonic and hand scaling. We follow with polishing and a fluoride treatment. The doctor then performs a complete oral exam and is able to provide other services as needed, including extractions, cavity filling, varnish applications, and endodontics. We keep you informed throughout the dental procedure and take the time to discuss any concerns with you at discharge in the afternoon. Many clients have expressed how much younger and more playful their pet acted following a dental cleaning - likely due to the fact that they are no longer living with pain.
So give us a call to schedule your pet’s free dental consultation today. We can help your pet live a long and healthy life.
